| Thad Gaebelein is an author and consultant in both business development and education for Aesir Group International. For seven years he was the Director for Ethics and Character Development for The United States Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point, N.Y. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Georgia and a Masters Degree in History and Strategic Studies from Vanderbilt University. He was an exchange student in a German University. In addition he graduated from Infantry Officer Basic and Advanced Courses, the Combined Arms Staff Services School, Air Assault School, Survival, Escape, Resistance, and Evasion School (SERE), and Army Flight School. He has served as an Infantry Officer in the 3rd Infantry Division in Germany and as an Aviator in the 101st Air Assault Division at Ft. Campbell, KY. From Infantry Platoon Leader to Command of an Air Assault Company of UH-60 Blackhawks in the 101st, Mr.Gaebelein has served in a variety of command and staff billets. Additionally, he taught History at The United States Military Academy at West Point. Among courses he taught were, The Evolution of Warfare and Revolutionary Insurgency/Counter Insurgency Warfare. Upon retiring early from the Army as a Major, he served for four years as the Headmaster of The Stony Brook School, a selective private independent college prepatory boarding school in New York. In addition to the normal duties of a school head such as strategic planning, fund raising, business operations, personnel management, and curriculum development, he kept his hand in teaching courses from religion to History. Returning to uniformed service, he worked for nine years at the United States Merchant Marine Academy as a Company/Battalion Tactical Officer, History Teacher and finally as Director of Ethics and Character Development. He has developed and implemented numerous programs and courses relating to Ethics training and leadership development. His last assignment in uniformed service was as Commandant at Valley Forge Military Academy and College. He is a recognized expert in pedagogy as well as Ethics and leadership development. He is a published author of two books, A Question of Character and A Woman at War, as well as numerous other articles. He is a public speaker on various topics from History and religion to Ethics and leadership/management. |
